Join the ANZ Public Sector Specialist Organisation as we drive the next wave of AI‐led transformation for Australian and New Zealand government and education customers. This role sits at the heart of our strategy, helping customers modernise their development and AI/ML practices. Beyond agentic and generative AI, this role also covers traditional AI/ML and MLOps, ensuring our customers can build, deploy, and operate predictive and classical ML workloads alongside their generative and agentic AI initiatives. You'll partner closely with our AI Sales Specialist counterparts and work alongside the rest of the Specialist SA team.
* Mission‐driven work with ANZ public sector customers tackling some of the region's most consequential digital transformation challenges
* Deep technical engagement spanning developer‐focused, agentic, traditional AI/ML and MLOps services
Key Responsibilities
* Help customers adopt modern AI‐assisted development practices
* Drive agentic application modernisation including containerisation, code‐level modernisation (API development, language porting and upgrades), and in‐house tool development
* Equip customers to remove barriers to agentic AI process automation by enabling them to build the tools they need – MCP servers, APIs, service buses, etc.
* Support customer adoption of traditional AI/ML services and embed MLOps best practices including model lifecycle management, feature stores, model monitoring, drift detection, CI/CD for ML, and governance
* Maintain L400+ depth in developer‐ and agentic‐focused AI services
* Maintain L400+ depth in traditional AI/ML and MLOps services
* Maintain L300 depth across other AI services such as Amazon Quick, growing to L400+ over time
* Partner with the AI Sales Specialists to align technical engagements with sales outcomes
* Coordinate with other AI/ML Specialist SAs to ensure developer‐side enablement and MLOps foundations underpin business process transformation at executive levels
A Day in the Life
You'll spend most of your time directly with ANZ public sector developer, data science and ML platform teams and executive stakeholders, running deep technical sessions on AI‐assisted development, agentic architectures, AI‐led modernisation, and MLOps foundations using Kiro, Bedrock, AgentCore, AWS Transform, and SageMaker AI. You'll partner closely with your specialist sales counterpart on key deals, other specialist SAs, account SAs, ProServe, Prototyping and partners.
Problems range from helping teams adopt agentic development practices, to designing production‐grade MLOps pipelines for traditional ML workloads, to helping guide modernisation of legacy applications with agentic tooling, to enabling customers to build MCP servers and APIs that unlock agentic process automation across their organisations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* 8+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
* 8+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
* Experience with AWS or cloud technologies
* Experience with Machine Learning and Large Language Model fundamentals, including architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimisation of model execution, or experience programming with at least one software programming language
* Knowledge of machine learning processing: computer vision, NLU, NLP or operations research
Preferred Qualifications
* Ph.D. in operations research, applied mathematics, theoretical computer science, or equivalent, or experience working with or evaluating AI systems
* Experience working with or for Australia/New Zealand Public Sector organisations
