Head of Mining; Natural Resources
At Aon, the Global & Corporate segment specialises in delivering client service delivery to large and complex clients, generally serving the top 500 public and private companies in Australia, including large government clients.
As Head of Mining within our Natural Resources team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Aon’s success in the mining sector. This is your chance to lead strategic growth, drive innovation, and make a real impact by partnering closely with a dynamic, collaborative team. You’ll work alongside talented experts from our broader Natural Resources group (which includes Mining, Power, Energy and Renewables) and specialist teams such as Risk Consulting and Human Capital, delivering tailored insurance and risk solutions that support the diverse needs of our clients from the ground up.
We’re looking for someone with the vision and ambition to elevate our client service delivery and set new industry standards. In this influential leadership role, you’ll be at the forefront of insurance market engagement, pipeline management, and thought leadership, helping to shape the conversation within the sector.
This is a hybrid opportunity, offering the flexibility to work virtually and from our Aon Australia offices, so you can balance professional growth and personal commitments.

What the day will look like
The individual will help grow the Mining sector.
Key responsibilities will include:
* National P&L management, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth
* Development and execution of industry strategy, including collaboration with Human Capital to improve win rates
* Accountability for industry growth strategy and pipeline management
* Creation and promotion of thought leadership for the Mining industry
* Market engagement, particularly with insurers
* Active participation in industry events to promote the Aon brand and present at key forums
* Establishment and execution of a consistent client engagement approach
* Colleague development, including nurturing team Subject Matter Experts and creating roles that foster involvement and ownership of key activities
* Management of benchmarking, data, and analytics to support the Mining industry, with a focus on delivering enhanced insights to clients
* Participation in APAC regional Natural Resources strategy, driving the development of a core team of NR leadership to enhance regional capabilities, share insights, and support colleagues in Australia and New Zealand
* Engagement in global industry strategy, including active participation in the Mining community to strengthen connectivity and industry specialisation
