Asset Management Officer

Permanent Full Time

Hervey Bay

Stream A Level 3 - $80,843 plus superannuation

* + 9-day fortnight

What we are looking for:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Asset Management Officer to support the ongoing development and maintenance of Council's corporate Asset Management System. This role has become available to strengthen our asset data integrity across roads, stormwater, coastal and other infrastructure assets. Join a supportive, collaborative team committed to delivering high-quality asset information for better community outcomes.

What your day will look like:

* Conduct engineering data audits and validate new, renewed and existing asset data
* Maintain and improve the integrity of Council's Asset Register
* Assist with data conversion, GIS validation and MapInfo workspace development
* Support maintenance and works management processes with accurate geospatial information
* Undertake field inspections to verify asset details and support special projects
* Liaise with internal teams to resolve data issues and ensure consistent asset management practices

What you'll need for success:

* Current Class C Driver's Licence
* Experience working in a civil engineering environment (mandatory)
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn AMS, AutoCAD and MapInfo
* Knowledge of civil engineering practices and ability to read engineering drawings
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision
* Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and exercise initiative

What's nice to have:

* Diploma or equivalent qualification in an engineering, asset management or data management field
* Experience with Local Government asset management processes
* Familiarity with GIS data handling and survey information
