Rural Fire Service Queensland is seeking a Bushfire Mitigation Officer to support the development of plans and strategies to reduce bushfire risk across the District.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake bushfire mitigation planning, implementation, and evaluation across the District
* Enable the use of fire in the landscape
* Support fire management groups, Volunteer Community Educators, Fire Wardens, and brigades
Requirements:
* Mandatory Requirements: Must meet the mandatory requirements and attributes as outlined in the generic RFSQ Rural Officer Two (RFSO2) role description.
* Highly Desirable Requirements: Knowledge of, or experience working with volunteers and/or within a volunteer organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Manager Bushfire Mitigation in the development of plans and strategies to reduce bushfire risk across the District. This includes undertaking risk assessments, coordinating activities, and reporting outcomes on fire management plans.
The ideal candidate will have proven commitment to maintaining bushfire competencies and operating in a team environment. They will also have the capacity to participate out of hours shift roster during disaster operations.
This is a day work position that may require flexible hours of work to meet functional demands, including working at night on weekends as part of the role.
