About the role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Security and Events Services Officer to join Victoria Police's People Development Command (PDC), Security and Events Services Unit, which is part of the Business Services Division (BSD). The Command plays a vital role in building the skills, capabilities, and confidence of Victoria Police employees to lead and positively influence the community. Through the delivery of comprehensive training and ongoing development programs, PDC supports police officers, Protective Services Officers (PSOs), and Police Custody Officers (PCOs) from their initial induction through every stage of their career.
BSD provides essential support across a range of operational areas, including Facilities Management, Information Technology, Gardening Services, Accommodation Services, Events, Security, Catering, Student and Scheduling Services, as well as Human Resources and Finance.
The Security and Events Services Unit serves as the primary point of contact for all visitors to the Victoria Police Academy, operating 24/7 to ensure the safety, security, and smooth functioning of the site. The unit undertakes a wide range of responsibilities including initial incident response and coordination, alarm and CCTV monitoring, fire warden duties, identification and vehicle verification checks, internal and external patrols, operational equipment distribution, and management of events and the vehicle fleet.
The successful applicant will be required to work rostered hours, shift work, some public holidays and weekends. Shift allowances will be paid in accordance with the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.

Your duties will include:
* Assist with any security or emergency situations within the complex
* Perform foot patrols when required
* Assist with the management of the Command's fleet vehicles and coordinate equipment allocation.
* Ensure enquiries from members of the public and staff are professionally and expeditiously attended to.
* Assist with telephone and counter enquiries from all clients, both internal and external, in a courteous and professional manner.
* Assist with the organisation of events, appointments and meetings conducted at the Academy.
* Undertake a range of administrative functions to support the Division including computerised activities and data processing.
* Perform the function of deputy fire warden at the Academy (training will be provided if applicant does not hold current qualification)
* Support to other business units within Business Services Division when required
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
* Ability to manage competing demands and be highly organised
* Experience in a similar type of role is highly desirable but not essential
* Proven interpersonal skills, dealing effectively with a wide range of personnel within a large and diverse organisation
* Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks with minimal supervision
* Problem solving and quick resolution skills
Further Information:
* One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
* This position is located at Victoria Police Academy, 1 View Mount Road, Glen Waverley.
* This position requires shift work as indicated in the Position Description (as attached to the advertisement).
* This position requires the successful applicant to have a current Victorian Drivers Licence.
* The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
