Where You'll Be Working
Hunter Valley Lower Mid North Coast Mental Health Service comprises Care Coordination, Rehabilitation, Intake and Acute Care Teams, along with two Mental Health Inpatient Units. As an acute outpatient service, we provide consultation, assessment, treatment, and ongoing follow‐up care to adults and their families across the Hunter Valley and Lower Mid North Coast regions.
This position sits within the Rehabilitation stream and is based at Nimoola Rehabilitation House in Taree. You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively to deliver high‐quality, recovery‐oriented care to consumers.
About The Role
In this role, you will deliver clinical, occupational, and rehabilitation assessments and interventions within the community mental health setting, including a residential rehabilitation environment. You will support consumers with complex presentations, providing high‐quality, person‐centred care that promotes independence, social inclusion, and meaningful engagement in daily life.
About You
You will hold a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and demonstrate a commitment to delivering compassionate, recovery‐focused care.
Support
You will receive direct support from the Rehabilitation Coordinator, alongside guidance from the Clinical Coordinator. Ongoing professional development is encouraged through regular in‐service education sessions and access to relevant internal and external training opportunities.
Requirements
* Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
* Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.

How To Apply
* Experience working in a specialist mental health setting including knowledge of contemporary principles and practices in mental health rehabilitation and the application of same in clinical practice.
* Demonstrated interest and/or experience using group interventions and developing group programs based on identified consumer need.
* Demonstrated high level verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
