We are currently seeking a Community Safety Officer to join our Active and Connected Communities team. This role plays a key part in supporting safer, healthier and more connected communities through the delivery of evidence‐based initiatives across Latrobe City.
About This Role
As the Community Safety Officer, you will work closely with the community, partner organisations and internal stakeholders to coordinate community safety and emergency relief initiatives. The role focuses on identifying community needs, developing responsive projects and supporting shared planning and evaluation in line with Council strategies and the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.
About You
You are an experienced and proactive professional with strong community engagement skills and the ability to manage projects in a public sector environment. You enjoy working collaboratively and are confident building partnerships, using evidence to inform decisions and meeting reporting and accountability requirements.
You will also need:
* Demonstrated ability to build relationships along with strong negotiation and problem solving skills.
* Proven experience in project management, including program evaluation.
* Demonstrated knowledge of local community needs and services.
* Proven high‐level analytical skills in determining priorities.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare high‐level reports, strategies and plans, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
