Position Information
Chifley College Shalvey Campus is a comprehensive 7-10 campus of the Chifley Collegiate, situated in Mount Druitt in Western Sydney. The school is regarded as an inclusive, stable and caring school with Safe and Respectful Learning as our core values. Our curriculum is geared to promote academic success and positive life outcomes for every student. The campus has excellent facilities, including gymnasium, fitness laboratory, covered basketball court and a full sized sports oval, agriculture farm, sound recording studio, dance and drama studio and Science Technology Engineering Mathematics room. Information and Communication Technologies are integrated across the curriculum. Current enrolment of the school population is 405. Our students include 37% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 22% having English as an Additional Language or Dialect, the majority from Pacific Nations. The campus has a Support Unit which caters for 56 students, with three Autism Spectrum Disorder and two Mild Intellectual Disability classes. Our staff are highly skilled and enthusiastic, working closely with parents and community partners to provide quality teaching and learning for every student.
Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
* Capacity to design and deliver differentiated, engaging PDHPE teaching and learning programs in both practical and theory settings that utilise explicit teaching methods to meet diverse student needs and promote high expectations and student achievement.
* Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and contribute collaboratively to faculty planning, programming, assessment and whole-school initiatives.
* Ability to work effectively within a cohesive PDHPE faculty to plan, deliver and evaluate new curriculum, sporting programs and extracurricular activities that enhance student engagement and wellbeing.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
