Enterprise Portfolio Risk Manager A skilled Enterprise Portfolio Risk Manager is required to drive proactive risk and issue management across a complex program environment.
This role will lead uplift activities, maintain portfolio-level visibility, and partner with project managers to strengthen risk culture, governance and delivery outcomes.
You will work closely with senior leaders, delivery teams and governance bodies to ensure risks are accurately identified, effectively managed, and consistently reported.
This position is central to embedding structured risk practices across the organisation, shaping capability uplift, and improving the maturity of portfolio-level oversight.
Key Responsibilities Meet regularly with project managers to review, challenge and support active risk and issue management across the portfolio.
Guide teams on the effective use of risk and issue tracking tools, ensuring high-quality data entry and consistent governance practices.
Facilitate risk workshops during planning, key delivery stages and milestone reviews to identify, assess and mitigate emerging risks.
Ensure all risk management activity aligns with organisational frameworks, policies and compliance requirements.
Produce portfolio-level risk reporting for senior executives, leadership forums and governance committees.
Maintain and oversee the Portfolio Risk Register, ensuring trends, escalations and emerging themes are visible and up to date.
Deliver training, mentoring and coaching to uplift risk capability across programs and projects.
Develop business requirements to support Power BI reporting for risk and issue analysis.
Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and refining risk processes, tools and templates.
Promote a proactive, forward-looking risk culture across the organisation.
About You You are a confident facilitator with strong risk management experience in complex project or program environments.
You bring analytical capability, sound judgement, and a collaborative, coaching-oriented approach.
You can influence across multiple teams, uplift capability, and maintain high-quality portfolio insights for senior leadership.
Your communication skills and structured working style ensure accuracy, clarity and strong governance outcomes.
Requirements of the Role Essential Demonstrated experience in enterprise or portfolio-level risk management.
Strong facilitation skills and confidence leading risk workshops.
Ability to interpret risk data, identify trends and provide actionable insights.
Experience using PPM tools or equivalent risk/issue tracking systems.
Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
Demonstrated understanding of risk frameworks and governance practices.
Highly Desirable Qualifications in risk management, governance, business or project management.
Professional certification (e.g., RMIA) or similar.
Experience supporting digital, transformation or multi-stream program environments.
