Primary objective
To coordinate and provide a high-quality graphic design service to the Department of Corrections and its stakeholders to
strengthen the Department's brand and published materials.
Context statement
The Department of Corrections communications and engagement team provides strategic communication and engagement
services to the department. The team and its resources help to support the Department of Corrections' strategic plan and
objectives.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Create, design and prepare documents as required for print and digital mediums and ensure style guide compliance within
the departmental, and Whole of Government style guides including federal departments where relevant.
2. Work closely with teams across the Department to ensure design work and social media is completed on time and to
budget.
3. Provide advice, develop and implement design concepts to enhance the profile of the Department to its stakeholders.
4. Contribute to the implementation of events, launches, shows and exhibitions ensuring the professional presentation of
the Department's initiatives.
5. Advise and coordinate publishing requirements including the production of corporate and business area publications.
6. Participate in communications projects with a focus on planning and logistics, resource allocation, consideration of
political and stakeholder implications
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, to
deliver high-quality design solutions across both print and digital mediums.
2. Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple design projects within tight deadlines and budgets, while working
collaboratively with diverse internal teams and external stakeholders.
3. Proven ability to work under pressure managing projects and creating appropriate design concepts within often
competing deadlines.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.
5. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive workplace culture through role modelling, collaboration, and alignment
with NTPS values of service excellence, accountability, innovation and respect.
6. Ability to work with initiative and autonomy, providing quality assurance and sound advice on design and communication
projects while exercising judgment on political and stakeholder sensitivities.
