Our team is growing and we're looking for someone with 5–10 years' experience in temporary works, design, construction methodology, and sequencing.This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join a supportive team that values learning, development, and providing you with the tools to excel and grow your career.ResponsibilitiesLead the design and documentation of temporary works including formwork, falsework, shoring, propping, crane bases, and access platformsDevelop and advise on construction methodologies and sequencing plans in consultation with site teams and contractorsUndertake detailed analysis and structural design to ensure safety, compliance, and constructabilityAssess the behaviour and performance of materials under construction-stage conditionsPrepare and review concept, schematic, and detailed temporary works designsConduct site visits to perform inspections, support construction teams, and provide engineering guidanceCollaborate with engineers, drafters, and consultants to deliver coordinated solutionsReview technical reports, drawings, and design calculations for quality and accuracyLiaise with colleagues across Adelaide, Perth, and other office locations to support cross-functional deliveryContribute to the preparation of high-quality construction and temporary works documentationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)5 to 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on temporary works and construction engineeringSolid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety principlesSkilled in structural analysis software and able to produce clear, accurate documentationProven experience in developing practical, buildable solutions under site constraintsStrong communication and coordination skills, particularly with site teams and contractorsA proactive, hands-on approach to solving engineering challengesAbout BG&EBG&E is an employee-owned engineering consultancy with more than half a century of experience.
