We are seeking a draftsperson to join this successful and growing team, assisting in the delivery of a range of traffic planning, design and engineering projects throughout South Australia and beyond. We are looking for someone with a high-level of experience using AutoCAD software, ideally with prior experience in the traffic, transport and/or civil engineering sectors.

Primary Objectives

• Assist engineering and planning staff in the provision of technical design services for public and private clients in a timely manner.
• Undertake and prepare conceptual and detailed designs for a broad range of engineering and planning projects.
• Assist in the analysis of traffic and parking data, as well as the preparation of written assessment outcomes, including utilisation of modelling software such as SIDRA Intersection for detailed analyses.
• Assist engineering and planning staff with project and general administration tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, functional and detailed designs for various traffic and parking systems for clients within the public and private sectors, under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
• Prepare traffic control plans, including signage and linemarking, for implementation as part of a project's detailed design phase and/or construction delivery.
• Undertake vehicle turn path simulation assessments using AutoCAD Vehicle Tracking software for both light and commercial vehicle types.
• Assist in collection and assessment of traffic data for input into traffic and/or parking analyses for a wide range of projects.
• Manage time, set priorities and achieve targets in the completion of a diverse range of activities and complete projects on (or under) budget and on time.
• Communicate effectively with clients and all levels of staff with a strong commitment to the delivery of high-quality customer service.

Qualifications & Skills

• Sound knowledge and skills in the use of AutoCAD (2D) software, including AutoCAD's Vehicle Tracing software.
• Prior experience in the use of Revit and BIM 360 is highly favourable.
• Knowledge and experience in geometric road design, including intersections and parking areas.
• Ability to work collaboratively in group environments as well as autonomously within a fast‐paced environment.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact competently with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
