Planning Certificate Officer

* Permanent full-time, 35 hours per week
* Salary from $72,636.75 to $78,625.01 + 12% Super

About the role

We are seeking a person with knowledge of the NSW planning system to help us prepare, check and supply Section 10.7 planning certificates to our customers and the community. Over 5,000 certificates are prepared each year by the team!

Duties include but are not limited to:

* Maintaining, analysing and presenting data in Council's core land information systems (textual and spatial).
* Providing customer services in the provision of land related information and mapping.
* Adhering to requirements contained in relevant legislation, standards, and codes of practice when undertaking tasks/activities and to advise their Coordinator if they become aware of any changes to these.
* Delivering superior support through the effective use of interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills while maintaining a high standard of personal and professional presentation at all times.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

* Degree/diploma/associate diploma and/or equivalent experience in a related discipline
* Knowledge of relevant planning legislation
* Proven skills and experience in the area of land information systems
* Highly developed interpersonal, time management, organisation skills and communication skills both verbal and written
* Commitment to a professional and supportive approach to activities and service provision
* Demonstrated ability working in a team environment and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
* Demonstrated ability to respond rapidly and innovatively, in order to resolve unplanned operational challenges
* Demonstrated proficient word processing and mapping skills
