Sandringham Ambulatory Care Centre (SACC) is a Not-for-profit (NFP) organisation that operates Urgent Care Clinics at Sandringham Hospital, Prahran, and Frankston, alongside health pathways and private medical practices. Embedded in the Bayside community, our clinics are designed to reduce pressure on hospital Emergency Departments by managing a high volume of walk-in patients. Our medical reception team plays a vital role in patient safety, flow, and overall experience.

SACC is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and patient-focused Enrolled Nurse (EN) to join our Urgent Care Clinic working at Sandringham. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be a key point of contact for patients, supporting both administrative and clinical workflows. Your primary focus will be ensuring patients are accurately checked in, clinically prioritised, and directed appropriately, while delivering calm, professional, and empathetic care.
Key Responsibilities
* First point of contact for patients and families
* Checking patients in and accurately recording presenting conditions
* Answering incoming phone calls and managing enquiries
* Providing over-the-phone triage in line with clinical guidelines and escalation pathways
* Identifying urgent clinical concerns and escalating appropriately to senior clinical staff
* Contacting patients for urgent recalls, follow-up, and time-critical communications
* Maintaining accurate documentation in the clinical management system
* Supporting smooth patient flow in a high-volume urgent care setting
About You
* Enrolled Nurse (EN) with current AHPRA registration
* Prior experience in medical reception, ideally in general practice, urgent care, or emergency settings
* Medical reception experience required
* Confidence in telephone triage and clinical decision-making
* Demonstrated telephone triage experience is mandatory
* Strong administrative, organisational, and time-management skills
* Excellent communication and customer service skills; calm under pressure
* Proficient with clinical software (Best Practice experience highly desirable)
Requirements
* Permanent Australian residency or a current valid working visa
* Current National Police Check or willing to obtain
* Valid Working with Children Check or willing to obtain
