Job Description:
As a Recovery Advocate, you will use your lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery to support others on their own journeys. You will draw from your personal experiences to role-model recovery and act as a champion for positive change.
About the Role:
* You will form authentic relationships with consumers by sharing your understanding of mental health challenges and recovery, and by providing support and guidance in a non-clinical setting.
* Through open and honest communication, you will help consumers identify and overcome obstacles, and work together to develop coping strategies and skills.
* You will play a key role in reducing stigma and discrimination within the community, and advocate for the rights and needs of consumers.
* By building trusting relationships, you will empower consumers to take control of their lives and make informed decisions about their care and well-being.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery
* Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with consumers
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of mental health services and resources
