Position: Emergency Medicine Consultant The Position: UExcel Medical Recruitment are currently arranging interviews for an Emergency Medicine Consultant to join a public hospital in North QLD. The successful FACEM is required to provide specialist emergency medical care, which may involve interaction with other health specialists and be expected to ensure smooth patient flow for patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Support the Clinical Director in delivering high-quality clinical services within the Department of Emergency Medicine. This role includes educating medical staff, students, allied health professionals, and interested community or nursing groups. Responsibilities also encompass active involvement in patient safety initiatives, clinical audits, research projects, and service planning activities. The Hospital: This 236-bed regional hospital services 10 rural hospitals and multi-purpose health facilities across the Whitsunday region. The facility is entering an exciting growth phase with a $250 million redevelopment, adding 112 inpatient beds and expanding outpatient and support services. Major upgrades are also underway at rural hospitals. Clinicians experience a diverse and rewarding clinical case mix, including general medicine, paediatrics, surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics & gynaecology, and mental health. These services are fully integrated with emergency, anaesthetic, and intensive care departments, supported by a broad range of allied health services. Specialist care is provided in collaboration with tertiary hospitals in Townsville and Brisbane.
