What position do we have available?
As the Assistant Product Manager – Industrial Welding Solutions, you will be the subject matter expert across a niche range of industrial welding solutions, including equipment, systems, and associated technologies. You'll support the full product lifecycle—from identifying emerging market opportunities and understanding customer needs, through to the successful commercialisation and ongoing optimisation of our solutions.
Working closely with sales, technical, operations, and marketing teams, you'll transform field and customer insights into actionable strategies that strengthen our product offering, enhance our competitive position, and deliver monetised customer value.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
* Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for industrial welding solutions across the business.
* Support the full product lifecycle, from concept and development through to launch and post-market performance.
* Capture, analyse, and validate market and customer insights to guide product and portfolio decisions.
* Collaborate with product development, engineering, and sales teams to bring innovative solutions to market.
* Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with corporate objectives and revenue goals.
* Provide technical support, training, and product knowledge to internal and external stakeholders and decision makers.
* Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
* Analyse product performance, pricing, and market dynamics to support data driven decision-making.
* Coordinate directly with global OEM partners and ITW Welding business units.
* Gain exposure to global product roadmaps and product management frameworks.
* Satisfy local market needs, applications, and compliance requirements.
* Translate ANZ market needs into global product and strategy decisions.

Skills and experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, project management, or a related discipline, or relevant trade qualifications.
* Strong knowledge of welding processes (MMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW) and product management experience.
* Experience in welding, metal fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments.
* Exposure to welding equipment, automation, or integrated welding solutions is highly regarded.
* Proven ability to manage projects and work cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, and sales teams.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* A proactive mindset and passion for continuous improvement.
