Our team is looking for a Senior Strategic Planner – Urbanist to help create a beautiful and liveable city that our community loves.
The role will assess State Significant developments and rezoning proposals, contribute to planning and design policy, and support the ongoing review of our planning framework.
* The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise, a solid understanding of good design outcomes, and experience negotiating planning agreements that deliver lasting community value.
* The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of collaborating in teams to address complex strategic planning challenges.
* The role requires strong knowledge of planning legislation, state policies, and planning instruments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement, and review planning policies, land use strategies, and planning instruments.
2. Assess planning proposals and advise on their progression.
3. Lead the preparation and negotiation of Planning Agreements with applicants for the best possible outcomes for the community.
4. Manage submissions and negotiations on complex State significant developments and infrastructure projects.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in town planning, urban design, or related built environment fields.
* A current Class C driver's licence.
* Proven experience collaborating in teams to address complex strategic planning challenges.
* Strong knowledge of planning legislation, state policies, and planning instruments.
