About the role
Wallis Entertainment is seeking a talented Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team at our popular restaurant in Mount Barker, South Australia. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our customers by assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations.
What you'll be doing
1. Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food preparation
2. Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and implementation of new culinary concepts
3. Supervise, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment
4. Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
5. Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste
6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen processes and procedures
What we're looking for
1. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Chef de Partie in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant or catering environment
2. Strong culinary skills with a passion for creating innovative, flavourful dishes
3. Excellent time management, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
4. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team
5. Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices
6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
7. Hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent culinary qualification
8. Must have full Australian work rights and be eligible to work in Australia without restriction
