About The Role
Orange is nestled in the picturesque Central Western Tablelands of NSW, it offers locals and visitors a unique blend of rural living with the culture and opportunities of a modern city.
The Orange Health Service Social Work Department operates across both the Orange General Hospital and Bloomfield Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Campus. This position is an opportunity for Social Workers both local or looking for a ‘Tree change’ to become a member of a dynamic rural Social Work Department.
The Senior Social Worker – Renal Supportive Care provides psychosocial assessment, counselling interventions (individual) and complex psychological support to renal patients, carers and their relatives accessing the Renal Supportive Care service operating in the Orange Region. Renal Supportive Care is a specialist service supporting patients’ quality of life and wellbeing whilst living with end stage or chronic kidney disease. The Renal Supportive Care operates as a multidisciplinary team and the Social Work role is an integral part of the team.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Renal Supportive Care Clinical Nurse Consultant in providing for the psychosocial care of patients, carers & relatives engaged in the service. The role covers a large geographical area servicing Orange and surrounding areas. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake some limited travel to service this area.
As a Level 4 Senior Social Worker in this position, there is an opportunity to apply your supervisory knowledge and skills and engaged in the development of social workers in Renal Social Work practice.
