Occasional travel are required to construction sites in the Central Tablelands area of NSW, with travelling expenses provided.
They are seeking an experienced Construction Director holding a Class 1 Building License, with a proven history of successfully managing large-scale residential projects. This role demands a hands-on leader who will oversee all aspects of the construction process, from coordinating trades and sourcing materials to managing supply chains and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard on-site.
Job Responsibilities:
* Lead end-to-end delivery of residential home build projects with active on-site management and leadership.
* Recruit, supervise, and coordinate subcontractors and trades across multiple teams.
* Manage procurement of construction materials both locally and internationally, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to quality standards.
* Oversee logistics including freight forwarding and customs clearance to maintain a smooth supply chain to project sites.
* Develop and maintain project budgets, timelines, and risk management strategies.
* Ensure compliance with building regulations, safety standards, and client requirements throughout construction.
* Act as the main point of contact for architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies.
* Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation related to contracts, permits, and regulatory compliance.
* Travel occasionally to construction sites in the Central Tablelands region to provide on-site leadership and support.
Requirements:
* Valid Class 1 Building License is essential; Class 2 license is a strong advantage.
* At least 10 years of practical experience managing high-volume residential construction projects such as houses, townhouses, subdivisions, and multi-unit developments.
* Demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams and manage complex supply chains on-site, delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
* Strong leadership capabilities with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on work ethic.
* Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Familiarity with project management tools and cost control processes.
* Willingness to travel occasionally to construction sites in the Central Tablelands.
