Assistant in Nursing
Blayney Multi Purpose Service
About The Role
Blayney Multi Purpose Service is currently undergoing an exciting redevelopment. Blayney MPS are seeking applications from enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Assistants in Nursing (AINS) to join our supportive and inclusive Nursing workforce.
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) position at Blayney Multipurpose Health Service plays an important role in providing high-quality care to residents living within our facility. This role is suited to a dynamic and motivated individual who has sound knowledge and experience in aged care services and is committed to delivering person-centred care. At Blayney MPS, the needs, dignity and wellbeing of each resident are at the centre of everything we do, and the Assistant in Nursing contributes significantly to creating a supportive and respectful care environment.
This is a shift work position that includes morning and afternoon shifts as well as weekends and public holidays. Morning shifts are supported by a team of five staff, including Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing. Afternoon shifts typically include four staff members, again comprising a mix of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing. Overnight care is provided by a Registered Nurse and an Enrolled Nurse. The broader team also includes a full-time Nurse Manager, an Education Officer who attends one day per week, hotel services staff, medical staff, and visiting allied health professionals including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Dietitians.
To be successful in this role you will hold Certificate III (HLT32507 Or HLT32512) in Health Services Assistance (Acute Care or Aged Care); or be currently enrolled as a Nursing Student (with successful completion of at least two semesters & your first clinical placement) and previous experience working in an acute or aged care facility.
Working at Blayney MPS offers a rewarding and varied experience, with opportunities to work alongside a supportive and collaborative team. Staff have the satisfaction of seeing patients recover and return home, while also building meaningful relationships with residents who call the facility home. The environment is welcoming and team-focused, with everyone working together to provide the best possible care.
Assistants in Nursing are typically allocated a wing of patients or residents to care for and are responsible for providing comprehensive, hands-on care. This includes assisting with personal care such as showering, toileting and meals, supporting mobility and comfort, assisting with wound care, regularly rounding on patients and residents to monitor their wellbeing, and maintaining accurate documentation. Through these responsibilities, the Assistant in Nursing helps ensure residents receive compassionate, attentive and respectful care every day.
We commit to support you in an inclusive, collaborative and caring team environment, and will help you develop the skills you need to reach your potential.
