Our client is a leading enterprise Fin-Services organisation with a strong focus on innovation, reliability, and operational excellence across its infrastructure and data platforms.
Role Overview
As a seasoned Database Automation Engineer with experience driving enterprise automation initiatives and platform modernization, you will:
Shape and drive the DevOps and SQL infrastructure vision across multiple platforms and products.
Lead initiatives supporting client onboarding, maintenance, and system reviews to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
Mentor and influence senior engineers, providing architectural guidance and best practices for SQL and cloud platforms.
Automate database deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management using Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
Implement performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies for SQL / PostgreSQL environments.
Integrate containerisation platforms, DevOps toolchains, and cloud services to deliver robust enterprise solutions.
Ensure security and compliance across all SQL infrastructure, including RBAC, Privileged Access Management, and encryption practices.
Skills & Experience
Advanced experience with MS Azure (preferred) and/or AWS, including networking, security, and identity management.
Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates) and scripting (PowerShell, Ruby).
Proven leadership in implementing and managing DevOps toolchains (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jira, Chef).
Deep knowledge of SQL / PostgreSQL platforms, including performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery.
Experience with containerisation platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes).
Strong understanding of security and compliance within enterprise environments.
