We are on the hunt for a Music Assistant to join our Music Team for a music-based television production based in Sydney!
About the job:
As the Music Assistant, your job will be to provide support to Senior Music Producers, Music Director and Executive Producers of the show. Your responsibilities will include but won’t be limited to:
• Assist with production and upkeep of all Music Team documents and administrative tasks (includes lyrics, spreadsheets, email communication, song lists, etc).
• Researching and casting vocalists for the production
• Helping support the Music Team as a contact for artists throughout the series
• Manage music/backline equipment under the supervision of the Snr Music Producer. Required to lift gear throughout
• Bump in, set up and pack down of small PA equipment as required
• Assist the Music Team in the management of the house band, additional musicians and backing vocalists
The right candidate will have the following skills and experience:
• Strong administrative skills
• A strong understanding of commercial music (all genres)
• Experience working in the Music or TV industries
• Tertiary qualifications in a field of music (preferred but not essential)
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated and can work independently
• Some heavy lifting involved and the role will require you to have your driver's license.
• Confident using musical equipment (setting up a small PA and running music)
• Experience using a music software program such as Pro Tools or Ableton (preferred but not essential)
• Interest and knowledge in popular music, both current and classic.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
