Job Title: Quantum Navigation Scientist
This role involves working on developing new navigation algorithms and sensor fusion strategies for use in GPS-denied or contested environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with experts in quantum sensing to deliver novel navigation capabilities that solve pressing challenges in maritime and aeronautical positioning and navigation.
* Develop new navigation algorithms and sensor fusion strategies;
* Translate quantum sensor performance into capabilities that solve pressing challenges for current and prospective navigation end-users and customers;
* Use data analytics to translate quantum sensor data streams into capabilities that solve pressing challenges for current and prospective end-users and customers;
* Work closely with other Research and Engineering teams to deploy and validate your developed algorithms and sensing solutions on real quantum sensing hardware;
* Develop, document, and review high-quality software using Python;
* Share your insights and results with the broader Quantum Sensing Division through verbal presentations and written outlets;
Key skills include:
* A B.Sc.(Hon) or M.Sc. in Physics, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related discipline;
* Experience in navigation theory, numerical navigation modelling (e.g. navigation system modelling, navigation signal processing, navigation fusion for alternative navigation systems, quantum sensing for navigation), and/or real-time state tracking and estimation;
* Strong desire to work with a world leading team and contribute to the development of the quantum technology industry;
