Overview
We are partnering with an established and growing Adelaide-based advisory firm and we are seeking an experienced Manager to join their collaborative and client-focused team. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys leading client relationships, mentoring and developing staff, and contributing strategically to the ongoing growth of the business. Working closely with the Directors, you will manage a diverse client portfolio while playing a key role in the leadership and development of the broader team.
The Opportunity
As a Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality accounting, taxation, and advisory services while supporting the strategic growth of the firm and strengthening long-term client relationships. This position offers genuine variety, exposure to complex advisory matters, leadership responsibilities, and the prospect to work within a supportive and forward-thinking environment that values professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Managing a portfolio of business advisory and taxation clients across a variety of industries and entity structures
2. Providing strategic accounting, taxation, and commercial advisory services
3. Managing and strengthening long-term client relationships
4. Working closely with Directors on complex advisory matters and strategic initiatives
5. Reviewing work completed by accountants and providing technical guidance and mentorship
6. Supporting and developing junior team members through coaching and leadership
7. Managing workflow priorities, team capacity, and client deadlines
8. Monitoring WIP, billing, and overall client profitability
9. Identifying opportunities to add value and improve client outcomes
10. Contributing to internal process improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
11. Participating in networking, marketing, and business development activities
12. Supporting the continued growth and strategic direction of the firm
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
13. 6+ years\' experience within a professional services/accounting firm environment
14. Strong technical accounting and taxation expertise
15. Experience managing a client portfolio and leading client relationships
16. Proven leadership and team management capability
17. Ability to mentor, develop, and support junior staff
18. Strong commercial acumen and advisory mindset
19. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
20. Strong organisational and time management skills
21. Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
22. A proactive, solutions-focused, and professional approach
23. Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and contributing to business growth
