About Infant Child Family Health and Wellbeing Hub
Monash Health is an appointed lead provider for the new Infant, Child Family Health and Wellbeing Hub, designed as a one-stop service to provide therapy across all aspects of an infant's or child’s life from 0-11 years. The Monash Health Hub has funding for community health, mental health, and family support services to enable mental health consultations, assessments, and treatments to infants, children and families in the South-eastern region of Victoria. The Monash Health Hub will sit alongside Early in Life Mental Health Service (ELMHS) - Monash Childrens and the Child and Family Program - Monash Health Community.
Children and their families will be able to access a range of specialist medical and allied health services, including paediatricians, occupational therapists, psychologists and speech pathologists to support their needs and as well as build on existing services and capacity.
The first of its kind, the Monash Health Hub in consultation with local communities, people with lived experience local service providers, including Aboriginal Controlled Community Organisations, to ensure service offerings are tailored to local needs and build on existing services and capacity.
The Monash Health Hub will be centrally located at Cranbourne, with spoke sites across the catchment of Dandenong, Casey, and Cardinia and will be part of a newly co-designed service with a Transdisciplinary/ Multidisciplinary service.
Monash Health Community Paediatric Rotational Training Programs available for:
1. Occupational Therapist (OT) (G1)
2. Speech Pathologist (SP) (G1)
Both Training Rotational Programs are:
3. full time three year fixed term positions available up to 1 eft
4. located at Cranbourne with travel to spoke sites, as required
5. rotational programs through Monash Health Hub/NDIS/Child & Family programs
6. part of a 12-month Grade 1 rotation within the Priority Populations directorate
Both Training Rotational Programs will provide:
7. provide specialist paediatric knowledge to support the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of Children 0-11 years coming through the Monash Health
8. access to clinical supervision from a senior lead, access to a multidisciplinary case review and professional development opportunities
9. access to a broad range of education within the allied health paediatric space including VPRS and Monash Children’s Acute teams
10. work in an outreach model of care as well as community health centre based, across a multi-disciplinary team
11. an integrated and holistic service reflecting the Social Model of Health and Health Promotion philosophies.
About You
As a G1 Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist with Paediatric experience, you are inspired to be part of a truly innovative interdisciplinary team and the chance to do things differently to make a measurable difference to improve the health and wellbeing of children and families.
To ensure your success in this role, you will have the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
12. Bachelor of Occupational Therapist or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent OR Speech Pathology: Appropriate Graduate Qualification and proof of Speech Pathology membership or eligibility for membership
13. Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy, with no restrictions
14. Understanding of relevant, contemporary occupational therapy theory, practice knowledge and evidence in clinical practice
15. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary assessment and treatment group setting
16. Dedicated to safe best practice and quality care
17. Committed to the delivery of patient centred care and patient advocacy
18. Enthusiastic, compassionate and able to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines
