The Coastal Maritime Services was found in 2013 and has since then become one of the leading maritime service/transport company providing a wide range of shipping services covering everything from traditional marine surveying and advisory services to waterfront loading and discharging experts, bulk vessel hold clearing and biosecurity services.
Qualifications and Experience:
l Diploma in Marine Surveying or other related qualifications (bachelors will be preferred)
l MSIC or ability to obtain one
l Certified commercial marine surveyor preferred
l Sailing experience on ocean going vessel with a minimum of 3 years surveying experience in local Australian ports
l Industry authorized officer - B.V.I 3001 an advantage
l Driver licence required
l Medically fit
Main Tasks include but are not limited to:
l Draft Surveys/Load Master
l Fitness to load - pre loading grain
l Bunker and condition surveys
l General cargo and marine surveys
l Conducting marine surveys throughout a ship's life to ensure safety standards and requirements are maintained
l Monitor and assist shipping operations to ensure safe and efficient cargo loading operations
l Ensure compliance with safety standards
l Ensure compliance with rules and regulations pertaining to safety of life, ship and marine environment at sea
l Controlling the safe operations of the ship and supervising & coordinating the activities of the deck crew
l Survey desk and hulls of ship to ensure they are constructed and maintained according to safety standards, rules and regulations laid down by Terminals and Port Authorities.
Salary Range:
$115,000 - $130,000 plus Super per annum
