About the role

The Development Compliance Officer will support the Team Leader Development Compliance to achieve the Strategic Community & Operation Plan deliverables. This role will undertake proactive audits and inspections in accordance with Council’s development compliance programs, ensuring all works including research, field inspections and taking appropriate regulatory enforcement is conducted to a high standard.

Remuneration

$91,316.16 - $115,952.20 + 12% Superannuation + Access to Car Allowance Scheme

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

* Tertiary qualifications from a relevant field such as town planning, building surveying, environmental management, or building construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Detailed understanding and knowledge of all relevant legislation including; Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979; Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997; State, Regional & Local State Environmental Planning Policies; National Construction Code (Building Code of Australia) and Australian Standards.
* Demonstrated ability to successfully manage high workloads, complete tasks and meet prescribed customer service response levels.
* Proven ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
* Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
