A rewarding opportunity currently exists for a Service Crew Operator to join our Sibanye Stillwater Australia team based on site at the Century Mine (Lawn Hill). This position will be offered as a permanent role on a FIFO basis - 15 days on /13 days off roster.
Service Crew Operator will be responsible for:
Maintaining infrastructure on the tailings dam to ensure mining activities can be carried out efficiently, safely and according to the mine plan.
Key Accountabilities shall include:
* Ensure Hydraulic mining equipment and infrastructure is maintained safely.
* Undertake daily tasks in accordance with the mining and maintenance schedule to ensure continuous production.
* Relocate and assemble high-pressure water pipework in accordance with production plans.
* Relocate and assemble high pressure water cannons, tele-huts, lighting plants and remote trailer mounted camera in accordance with the mine and maintenance plans.
* Complete inspections of all equipment at commencement of work on the machine and post re-assembly.
* Assist in the training of personnel in the management of high-pressure water pipes.
* Carry out earthworks on the dam surface as required.
* Focus on continuous improvement of mining practice efficiency and safe operation.
* Ensure all defects and hazards are reported in a timely manner.
Applicants shall possess the following technical, interpersonal skills, knowledge, and qualifications:
Technical:
* Proficient in operating a range of heavy machinery, including Front End Loaders, Skid Steer Loaders, Telehandlers, Excavators, and Graders, with relevant tickets and certification.
* Strong knowledge of high-pressure systems, mining production processes, and mining safety regulations, particularly for open-cut metalliferous mining in Queensland.
* Experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting mining equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements in a mining environment.
Knowledge:
* Relevant legislative provisions for open cut metalliferous mining and mining safety in Queensland.
* Mining production.
* Mining based safety system.
* Ground awareness.
Experience:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in operational/maintenance roles, OR
* Minimum 3 years' experience in mining.
* Experience working with high pressure systems highly regarded.
Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences:
* Certificate III in surface extraction (desired).
* Current open C Class Drivers license.
* Front end and skid steer loader ticket.
* Certificate of competency or ticket (equivalent) for Telehandler, Excavator, Grader and Working at Heights.
