As a Boilermaker / Line Boring Service Technician, you will perform corrective and preventative maintenance on Diesel Powered and EV Mobile Equipment across various field locations and our workshop. You will be responsible for high-quality fabrication, repairs, and line boring work, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and within acceptable timeframes.
This role requires a dedicated professional who can work independently, participate in an on-call roster, and represent Kalmar professionally to meet our clients\' expectations.
What are your key responsibilities:
* Fabrication & Repair: Carry out boilermaker fabrication, structural repairs, and line boring work on a variety of heavy mobile equipment.
* Maintenance Execution: Perform preventative maintenance (PM) servicing in compliance with schedules and complete all relevant checklists and documentation.
* Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company HSE regulations, maintaining a zero-accidents safety culture.
* Customer Relations: Build strong relationships through professional behavior, clean workplaces, and thorough review of work with customers before signing out.
* Operational Readiness: Prepare for service jobs by managing parts, service history, and tools; maintain all allocated IT and field equipment in a presentable state.
* Technical Support: Perform warranty repairs in accordance with factory requirements and troubleshoot machine problems to evaluate repair completeness.

What you bring to the role:
* Qualifications and Licences: Australian Mechanical trade qualification (Cert 3 in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or Mechanical Trade/Machinist). Manual Driver's license (LR to MR preferred); High Risk Work Licenses (Forklift and EWP) are highly favorable.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience specializing in fabrication, repair, and line boring on heavy equipment.
* Technical Skills: Working knowledge of welding techniques to produce high-quality work and proficiency in using mechanical equipment for troubleshooting.
* Essential Competencies: Strong analytical, numeracy, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
* Flexibility: Availability for normal business hours, weekends, and an on-call roster for emergency breakdowns.
