We rely on our engineers to deliver our superior safety standards, up to the second. They’re the trouble-shooters, glitch-fixers, and tech-experts who make sure we take to the sky safely.
Our Melbourne Engineering Precinct is the main maintenance hub of our network, offering opportunities across all functional areas of maintenance – line, intermediate, and base activity. Our engineers work on Jetstar fleet and customer aircraft including A320/21, B787, and A320 Freighter. Our Melbourne Precinct also hosts our Apprentice Program.

We are actively seeking Aircraft Painters to join our Engineering team in Melbourne. Your role involves applying surface finishes and related materials on aircraft structures, adhering to Jetstar’s MOE, SMS, Maintenance Procedures, Company Policies, and Civil Aviation Safety Authority regulations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Inspect and prepare surfaces of aircraft panels and components
* Remove surface coatings and light corrosion from aircraft or components
* Apply paints and coatings via spraying, rolling, and brushing
* Apply stencils, decals, and aircraft markings
* Perform rectification work involving preparation and painting of aircraft components
* Apply specialized coatings according to maintenance data
* Plan and organize maintenance activities related to painting and finishing
* Ensure quality standards in aviation maintenance processes
* Interpret and use technical data, manuals, drawings, and specifications
* Complete documentation as required by regulations and procedures
We’re looking for:
* At least 2 years’ experience in automotive or aircraft painting (preferred)
* Experience in other aviation or related industries
* Knowledge of quality assurance procedures (aviation procedures preferred)
* Strong time management and self-management skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Ability to apply for an ASIC card
* Strong work ethic and attention to detail
* Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain an Airside Drivers Licence
