Responsibilities
* Demonstrate the "Passion for Excellence" by serving guests with flair and professionalism, ensuring requests are quickly and efficiently fulfilled.
* Provide personalised service to guests and deliver the "Essence of Pleasure".
* Embody the art of French hospitality with a can-do attitude.
* Complete tasks in a timely manner.
* Maintain clean work areas and prevent cross-contamination.
* Assist other departments when needed and maintain good working relationships.
* Support the Chef de Partie, Junior Sous Chef, Sous Chefs, Executive Sous Chef, Head Chef and Executive Chef while in the kitchen.
* Organise and manage a section of the kitchen to run efficiently and productively.
* Apply basic cooking methods including preparation of meats, seafood, starches, fruits, vegetables, and desserts.
* Prepare, cook, and plate outlet or banquet menu items according to established recipes and Sofitel F&B brand standards.
* Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues promptly.
* Work toward departmental targets as part of the team.
* Assist Senior Chefs with menu preparation and ensure adequate supplies for service.
* Ensure service and brand standards are met during shifts.
Qualifications
* Qualification in Commercial Cookery
* 1-2 years' experience in a similar role
* Strong communication skills
* Professional appearance representing the Sofitel brand
* Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
* Genuine passion for gastronomy and flair for creating memorable dining experiences
* Working understanding of food safety standards and HACCP
* Previous experience in high-volume kitchens
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
