Electrical Supervisor Role Overview:
Job Summary
This role involves providing technical expertise, input, training and consultative support for facility commissioning and startup.
* Key responsibilities include work planning and packaging, turnover coordination, material management and quality control, as well as environmental safety and health.
Major Responsibilities:
General:
* Leads the support of basic Startup Specialist duties including installation configuration validation and work package development.
* Ensures technical direction to subcontractors completing commissioning & startup activities.
Work Planning & Packaging:
* Plans and schedules CSU execution activities including sequence and resource requirements.
* Prepares Startup Work Packages and Test Work Packages.
Turnover Coordination:
* Participates in Construction to CSU turnover walkdowns.
* Interfaces with the Field Engineer as required to support component/system turnover.
Material Management & Quantities:
* Initiates requisitions for field purchases and prepares quantity take offs.
* Tracks field purchases and other purchases required for CSU using procurement systems or other database programs.
Quality Control:
* Performs walkdowns to validate system configuration.
* Performs and/or monitors testing of equipment to assure conformance with specifications and compliance with test procedures.
ES&H:
* Identifies and resolves/elevates ES&H issues in the field.
Education and Experience Requirements:
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree and possess 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Ability to plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of startup, operations, or maintenance.
* Assists with the preparation of operations manuals.
* Plans, guides, or prepares project administrative and technical documents as required.
* Coordinates startup between project engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors.
* Trains assigned personnel and assists them in their professional development.
* Broad knowledge of precedents in the startup or operations area and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related areas.
* Good knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to plant or equipment operations.
* Skill in oral and written communication.
