Join us and be part of a story you'll love to tell.About the RoleAs a Mental Health Clinician, you will be an experienced practitioner who provides care coordination and delivers counselling interventions to young people experiencing mild to moderately complex social and emotional wellbeing challenges.This is a full-time opportunity contracted until June 2026, with the possibility of extension!The role involves providing contemporary youth-focused, youth-friendly mental health services including:Utilising discipline-specific skills, professional mental health knowledge, and clinical decision-making abilities to assess and review the mental health needs of young people.Contributing to multidisciplinary team triage and case review processes, facilitating service access and referrals.Developing and monitoring individual treatment and care plans, completing case management tasks.Completing time-limited psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches as per funding guidelines.Providing instruction, supervision, and psychosocial education to young people and their support networks.Assessing mental health needs and formulating therapeutic plans.Delivering individual counselling and group programs.Providing clinical care coordination, liaising with stakeholders, and making timely referrals.Ensuring family-inclusive practice and involving young people, their families, friends, and support networks.Participating in case reviews with the team and clinical supervisor.What we provide our CliniciansAccess to 1-1 Clinical Supervision and Communities of Practice to support learning, career growth, and wellbeing.Access to professional development training and support for maintaining accreditation.About YouExperience in counselling and case management of young people with diverse physical and mental health issues.Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping in computerised programs.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in establishing rapport with staff, young people, and families.Ability to prioritise and manage caseloads effectively.Ability to recognise and refer additional needs to WMQ services.What makes a difference for us!Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling.Current registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., AASW for Social Workers, ACA or PACFA for Counsellors).Proof of vaccination status as required by legislation and policy.Relevant probity checks.Current driver’s license and willingness to drive for work.Why WMQ?We value diversity, strive for inclusion, and are committed to supporting your wellbeing and growth.
