Software Quality Engineer
Location: Fort Worth, TX

Duration: 12+ months contract - W2 hourly
Job Description:
This position monitors every phase of the software development process to ensure design quality, making sure that the aircraft delivered software adheres to the standards set by the development company and satisfies regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum of 11 years directly related work experience with aerospace/defense industry software processes (such as RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498, etc.)
* Experience with government customer projects
* Experience with FAA projects
* Basic understanding of audit techniques
* Basic understanding of software development methods and testing methods
* Ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, contracts for system & software process development and review
* Experience in software requirements development
* Software design and coding experience (C/C++, Ada, or other embedded programming languages)
* Embedded software/hardware verification knowledge
* Effective communication skills: written, oral, listening, presentation, technical writing
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
* Interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers
* Work effectively in a team environment with excellent customer interface and interpersonal skills
* Quickly understand the software process audit scope, technical requirements, risks, and milestones
* Review and approve system, software, and test equipment requirements, design, and documentation for compliance
* Collaborate with engineering counterparts to ensure process and product compliance to contractual and company standards
* Participate in software change control boards
* Moderate travel may be required for program activities and supplier audits
* Mentor and train junior employees as needed
Education:
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
