Overview
The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is a free, two-year, home-based early childhood learning and parenting program that empowers parents and carers to be their childs first teacher.
Responsibilities
* Volunteer to accompany the coordinator on home visits to enrol families during January and February. The volunteer will travel with the coordinator from Communicare Head Office in Cannington and meet families in their homes.
* Support the HIPPY team and families at gatherings throughout the year. Gatherings are held at Communicare and sometimes in a park. Volunteers help with:
* Set up for the gathering
* Supervise children and engage in play-based activities with them
* Engage with parents
* Help the HIPPY team to pack away, wipe down tables, stack chairs and sweep floors at the end of the gathering
End-of-year Graduation Event
* Assist the HIPPY team at the end of year Graduation event: help with food preparation and setting up for the event
