THE ROLE

The Senior Business Continuity Officer works across the department to plan and deliver key business continuity (BC) functions, including stewardship of the business continuity policy and framework. The role supports the department's BC Network deliver a robust and effective BC management system to build resilience to effectively manage the impact of disruptions to the delivery of the department's critical activities. The role also supports and administers the department's Business Continuity (BC) Management System in partnership with the Department of Health.

As part of the Emergency Management Branch, the Senior Business Continuity Officer provides support and assistance with the department's planning for and operational responses to emergencies.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

* Lead the delivery of the Department's business continuity functions, and coordinate the day-to-day activities to successfully deliver and maintain a well functioning BC system.
* Contribute to BC planning and preparedness activities to enable the recovery of the department's critical services during a significant BC disruption.
* Develop and facilitate learning and development initiatives for business continuity and emergency management related training, including information sessions, workshops, forums, exercises and continuous improvement initiatives
