Your new role
In this temporary assignment, your responsibilities will include:
- Plan, coordinate, conduct, and review investigations to ensure they are thorough, fair, impartial, and able to withstand independent scrutiny.
- Assist with developing recommendations or changes to reduce misconduct and workplace risks
- Provide advice and training on investigation methods to support departmental staff
- Liaise with stakeholders such as police, legal bodies, and government agencies, and represent the department at relevant forums
- Conduct research on investigation techniques, misconduct issues, disciplinary processes, and workplace learning trends
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and briefing materials for senior leaders, including the Minister and Director-General
- Contribute to and monitor integrity best practice in the Queensland Public Sector to ensure that the department practices effective conflict and complaint resolution, and fraud and risk control.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Demonstrated experience in an investigator role, and experience dealing with sensitive matters in a trauma-informed way.
- Experience conducting administrative investigations in an employment or regulatory setting.
- Experience conducting professional interviews and conducting interviews sensitively.
- Ability to assess and critically analyse evidence and make findings.
- Ability to write comprehensive investigation reports that are factual and succinct.
- Knowledge of public sector objectives, legislation, policy and procedures; and
- Possession of a blue card or willingness to obtain.
