Yara Pilbara are building a talent pool for upcoming Mechanical Technician roles (Monday to Friday work pattern) across our ammonia and TAN plants.

Mechanical Technicians at Yara Pilbara typically:
- Provide mechanical support services across both plants to help meet protected and cost-effective production targets.
- Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance and plant modifications on mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose and repair complex equipment breakdowns.
- Monitor task completion in accordance with plans and schedules; report any deviations.
- Record accurate work history, time confirmations, and technical feedback in SAP.
- Commission equipment in collaboration with asset owners or users.
- Ensure work is carried out in compliance with relevant laws, safety standards, and company policies.
- Supervise contractor personnel as required.
- Participate in shutdowns, turnarounds, and continuous improvement activities.
- Assist in coaching and mentoring apprentices.

Profile
- Certificate III or IV (TAFE) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Ideally 10 years in a relevant industry such as petrochemical, gas processing, or oil refining.
- Good computer literacy, including SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of statutory standards and industry regulations.
- Commitment to high environmental and safety standards.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
