About the role:
The role is ideal for someone from a mechanical fitting or fabrication background who has stepped up into leadership and thrives in a small business environment where decisions matter and results are visible.
Working Monday to Friday (7:00am – 5:00pm) at the Office based in Malaga, the function of the Perth based General Manager is to provide the necessary leadership to manage and co-ordinate, facilitate and direct the short and long-term shutdown and projects. This will include management of the shutdown and projects teams, planning, scheduling and execution in a safe efficient and cost-effective manner.
Along with this work, you will be responsible for the Perth office staff and fabrication workshop from a management point and leadership role.
Primary Objective of the Role:
* Work closely with the clientele, along with TMS Management to ensure that the scheduled shutdown maintenance and project works is planned and executed in accordance with the clients and TMS’s standard and procedures.
* Ensure all personnel are aware of safe work practices and procedures and are provided with a safe working environment.
* Implementation of a continuous improvement philosophy across the shutdown function, always delivering best practices.
* Management and support of all personnel.
* Maintain and deliver the shutdown or project within budget and where applicable implement cost saving functions.
* Ensure that all work is to the required standard and that all drawings, specifications, inspections and certifications and adhered to.
* Ensure that all shutdown and project plans are programmed, produced and monitored in accordance with the Clients requirements.
* Actively review, improve, refine and update the shutdown work process to consistently deliver a high level of performance and be an industry leader.
* Develop job plans for activities to include costs, durations, specifications, drawings, equipment, materials and manpower, safety/environmental requirements, special tooling and any other requirements as needed.
* Ensure all necessary documentation is developed and stored appropriately within the TMS Hub, this includes all pre and post shutdown documentation, work packages, reports etc.
* Attend meetings with Management & Logistics department both within TMS and direct for our clients.
* Manage and direct works through to our Perth office and staff.
* Managing fabrication workshop operations, people and production.
* Leading and motivating trades, Supervisors and support staff.
* Driving revenue growth through new work, repeat business and operational improvements.
* Overseeing budgets, costs, margins and financial performance
Your Experience and skills:
* Planning & organising, problem solving.
* Conflict & time management and strong communication skills.
* Intermediate MS office skills, drawing programme knowledge an advantage.
* Highly motivated with the ability to multitask, manage people and work in a busy environment.
