Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (Sunrise) is an Aboriginal community-controlled, not-for-profit health service supporting communities across the Big Rivers region of the Northern Territory. This opportunity is for Remote Area Nurses (RANs) across the Big Rivers region, with permanent, casual, and flexible arrangements available. This is more than a nursing role — it's an opportunity to practise holistic, relationship-based care in some of the most culturally rich and remote communities in Australia. Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive primary healthcare, including acute presentations, chronic disease management, and preventative health
* Work closely with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, GPs, allied health, and community members to provide culturally responsive care
* Support health education, community engagement, and locally driven health initiatives
* Maintain clear and accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and regulatory standards
* Participate in an on-call emergency response roster, supported by experienced clinical and operational teams
About You / Qualifications
* Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
* At least two (2) years' experience in remote, emergency, or Indigenous health (MEC/REC/ALS highly regarded)
* Confidence working independently while knowing when to reach out for support
* Strong communication skills and a respectful, culturally safe approach to care
* A genuine commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities
* Flexibility and readiness for the unique challenges and rewards of remote nursing
* Current national police check and working with children check are required
