Aboriginal Education Officer Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aboriginal Education Officer to join our team at Bishop Druitt College. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to make a meaningful contribution to the education and well-being of our students.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with teachers, staff, and students to promote Indigenous culture and knowledge within our school community. Key responsibilities will include developing and implementing programs that enhance student learning outcomes, providing support and guidance to teachers in delivering high-quality Indigenous-focused lessons, and fostering strong relationships with local Indigenous communities.
Key Requirements
* A strong connection to Gumbaynggirr Aboriginal culture and local community
* Experience in educational settings, ideally with a focus on Aboriginal education
* A willingness to understand and teach Indigenous language
* Experience within the community and/or Youth Working Services
Preferred Qualifications
* Teaching qualification
* Current First Aid or CPR certification
