About The Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC Level 2) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership, facilitates evidence-based practice. The CNC will promote a service that fosters clinical excellence, research and professional leadership. The CNC contributes to quality health care by collaborating with health care providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards and evaluating their outcomes.
This permanent full‑time role is pivotal in maintaining HammondCare's commitment to upholding stringent infection prevention and control standards across its diverse range of healthcare facilities and services. The successful candidate will lead efforts to prevent and manage healthcare‑associated infections, implement evidence‑based practices, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement in infection control measures. The role will be based at both Braeside Hospital in Prairiewood and Neringah Hospital in Wahroonga with flexible consulting to other health and hospital sites.
Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, infection control practitioners, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals will be paramount, and you will be responsible for providing services that facilitate effective management of the care in the given specialty. Responsibilities include policy development, staff education and training, surveillance, outbreak investigation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
About You
* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA & at least 5 years of full‑time equivalent post‑registration experience.
* Approved postgraduate nursing qualifications in a related field or other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.
* Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty.
* Ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
* Capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
* Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidence‑based nursing care.
* Understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
* A current driver's licence and willingness to travel between HammondCare's sites and services.
