Sous Chef – Full-Time Position at Ahmet's Turkish Restaurant, South Bank
Ahmet's Turkish Restaurant is a well-established and busy restaurant located in the heart of South Bank, Brisbane. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our professional kitchen team on a full-time basis.
About the Role:
As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in leading and supporting the kitchen team alongside the Head Chef. You'll help maintain the high standards Ahmet's is known for while ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in managing daily kitchen operations and staff
* Oversee food preparation and ensure consistency in quality and presentation
* Monitor stock levels, ordering, and inventory control
* Maintain food safety and hygiene standards
* Support and train junior kitchen staff
* Ensure smooth service during busy periods
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in fast-paced restaurant kitchens
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Proven ability to handle high-pressure services
* Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
* Trade qualifications in commercial cookery (preferred)
* A passion for quality food, teamwork, and attention to detail
