Overview
Our client is an award-winning, values-driven building inspection consultancy that provides trusted solutions to home buyers, home builders, strata managers, councils of owners, and the wider construction industry.
As they continue to grow, we are seeking a full-time Senior Bookkeeper / Management Accountant to take ownership of the finance function and support strategic decision-making. This role is hands-on, agile, and integral to our clients growth story.
The Role — You'll be responsible for the full financial cycle — from day-to-day bookkeeping through to management reporting and analysis. You'll ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, provide insights to leadership, and contribute to continuous improvement across the finance systems.
Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Compliance
- Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable, including timely payments and collections.
- Complete bank reconciliations and oversee BAS/IAS lodgements.
- Prepare payroll (including leave, superannuation, PAYG, and compliance obligations).
Month-End & Reporting
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, unearned revenue, and journals.
- Finalise month-end reconciliations and reporting packs for the CEO.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive efficiency by streamlining financial processes.
- Support system integrations and ensure data accuracy across operational platforms.
About You
- 3+ years' experience in a similar role (Bookkeeper, Assistant Accountant, or Management Accountant).
- Skilled in Xero and confident in Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to contribute to business success.
Desirable:
- Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Power BI).
- Exposure to Australian company income tax.
- Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA or CA qualified (or working towards).
