Greyhound Racing SA Limited (GRSA) is the controlling body of greyhound racing in South Australia, conducting, regulating, and promoting the sport from our headquarters at Angle Park. GRSA's primary responsibilities are to ensure the welfare of the industry's greyhounds and the responsible and ethical regulation of approximately 700 licenced industry participants and race meeting activities at its five racetracks – Angle Park, Gawler, Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier and Virginia – through the effective enforcement of local and national rules and compliance policies.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic maintenance team at our home of racing, Angle Park. As part of a team, the Maintenance Officer will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of tasks to ensure a safe environment for the greyhounds and a safe and attractive environment for all stakeholders, race day patrons and visitors.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
* Prepare sand racetrack for racing and trialing in accordance with GRSA standards.
* Assist with setting up and maintaining track infrastructure and race day equipment such as starting boxes, lure system, lure rail and safety rail, catching pen and gates.
* Perform routine preventive checks track/maintenance equipment and identify areas of concern and effect repairs.
* Assist other team members in undertaking minor projects.
* Delivering general venue maintenance and repairs.
* Contribute to the maintenance and presentation of GRSA's racetrack and grounds to showcase the venue for race days.
* Assist other maintenance team members with associated maintenance tasks, as and when required.
To be considered for this role you will preferably have:
* Previous experience in a grounds maintenance, general maintenance or any trade setting.
* Demonstrable understanding of work health and safety practices.
* A solution-focused mindset and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
* A valid Australian driver's licence is required.
* A level of medical and physical fitness sufficient to be able to perform the inherent requirements of the role. Some tasks are physically demanding and require a sound level of medical and physical fitness.
* Employment will be subject to a satisfactory police clearance.
This position may require travel to all four GRSA racetracks and is worked on a rostered schedule including morning, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts.
