* Permanent Full-Time
* $86, $98,620.66 per annum depending on experience (NOTE: salary ranges will increase under the new Industrial Agreement which is currently in the final stages of negotiation)

Contribute to the growth of one of Western Australia's most prominent coastal cities renowned for its natural beauty and community values.

Join the City of Busselton's Statutory Planning team and contribute to the delivery of well-considered development outcomes across a diverse and growing region. You'll be responsible for the assessment and determination of a wide range of development applications; from residential to commercial and tourism proposals, each offering its own set of considerations. Your contribution will help ensure planning decisions align with the City's strategic objectives and planning framework.

What you'll be doing:

As a Planning Officer, you'll be the go-to expert for professional planning advice, working with a wide range of stakeholders across the Busselton community. Your days will be filled with variety, challenge and impact, including:

* Assessing development applications - from single houses to commercial and tourism projects.
* Reviewing subdivision proposals - residential, rural, and commercial.
* Providing expert advice to developers, government agencies, and the community.
* Conducting site visits in breathtaking locations like Dunsborough, Eagle Bay, and Yallingup.
* Assisting in the development and review of planning policies and procedures.
* Supporting the City's strategic planning goals and Town Planning Scheme.

You're proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a genuine passion for urban planning. You thrive working independently and in a collaborative team environment, and you're excited by the opportunity to make a real difference in a growing coastal city.

What you'll bring to the role:

* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* A keen eye for detail and sound judgement.
* Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Planning, or similar qualification / relevant industry experience.
* Experience in statutory planning (preferred but not essential).
