Lead a High-Performing Workshop Team at K&R Hydraulics
K&R Hydraulics, a well-established hydraulic repair and manufacturing company located in Thornton, is currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Machine Shop Manager to lead operations in our Machine Shop and Welding Bay.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with a strong trade background in fitting and machining, combined with excellent people and operational management skills.

What You'll Be Doing
As the Machine Shop Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Managing the production schedule to meet internal and external delivery deadlines
* Supervising, planning, and prioritising daily activities across the Machine Shop and Welding Bay
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives across processes and systems
* Operating machines when required to meet urgent deadlines
* Assisting with quoting, project management, materials purchasing, and quality checks
* Coordinating preventative maintenance for all shop equipment

What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who brings leadership, technical skills, and a proactive mindset. To be successful, you'll need:
* 5+ years' experience managing staff in a machine shop or similar workshop setting
* Trade qualification in Fitting & Machining
* CAD/CAM training and proficiency
* Proven ability to lead cultural and operational change in a workshop environment
* High-level computer literacy and strong communication skills
* Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, including Drug & Alcohol Testing
* Full work rights in Australia
