Tasks & responsibilities
This role works closely with the senior management team and is a key contributor to the successful delivery of operational outcomes.
This is a Casual (approx 25-30hrs per week) position under the Pastoral Award. Work hours are generally 6am to 2pm, however, these hours can vary depending on the needs of the farm & may require some weekend work. The role is located in Longford.
Key responsibilities include:
* Learning about the care of and maximising the welfare of layer hens
* Monitoring and reporting on hen welfare
* Routine inspection, cleaning and maintenance (sheds & yards)
* Moving chickens from one area of the farm to another
* Problem solving – identifying and fixing issues
* Biosecurity – limiting the risk of the introduction of pests and diseases that could harm the hens
* Collaborating with farm management to continually improve farm operations
* Other tasks as directed
